Who Is Tom Hiddleston's Lifelong Favorite Superhero?

For such a bad guy, Loki sure does have a ton of loyal supporters. It's easy to see why when you read an interview with Tom Hiddleston, however.

Take, for instance, Hiddleston's chat with SFX Magazine. The British actor talks about his motivations behind playing Loki, how he found out that he would have a major role in "The Avengers," what it was like performing his stunts and costuming up and so on. But it's not just Marvel talk that Hiddleston is interested in. Towards the end of the interview, the actor reveals that his favorite superhero isn't even one of Earth's mightiest — though he is one of the biggest guns in DC Comics' arsenal.

"As a kid, I loved Superman," he said. "For me, Christopher Reeve as Superman was the first superhero. I sat smack-bang in the middle of the audience for that movie. I was the right age at the right time, and I spent a lot of my childhood playing Superman games in the playground."

In another universe, Hiddleston might have been a brilliant Superman. (More likely a brilliant Superboy-Prime, though that's a conversation for another day.) But it's not Clark Kent's power-set that Hiddleston has his eye on, were superpowers such a thing in the real world.

"I would love to have invisibility," he revealed of his desired power. "Wouldn’t it be fascinating to be able to walk around and not be seen? You could listen into everything and look around. It would be a huge freedom to not be seen."
